The brief
Two busy stores, one big move.
KIX has been selling vaping products across Northern Ireland and Ireland since 2009, through local stores and two online brands: KIX and Nicofresh. Both online stores were running on Shopify.
The business wanted full ownership of its stores, its data and its features. That meant moving everything to WordPress without losing a single customer, order or loyalty point, and without slowing down two stores that handle a lot of traffic and orders every day.
Our approach
Shared foundations, two distinct brands.
We rebuilt both stores on WordPress and WooCommerce from a shared foundation, with Elementor for the core pages so the team can run promotions and update content themselves. Each brand keeps its own look, while products and features are built once and work across both.
Where off-the-shelf plugins fell short, we built our own, so the stores do exactly what the business needs, from free gift offers to custom reporting.
Poppins across both brands, for a clean, friendly retail feel.
Under the hood
The hard part nobody sees.
-
01
Shopify to WooCommerce migration
Products, variations, customers and order history exported from Shopify and mapped into WooCommerce, with a huge amount of data cleansing along the way: duplicates merged, inconsistent records fixed and everything checked before launch.
-
02
Loyalty points carried across
Every customer's Kix Rewards points balance moved over intact, so nobody lost points they had earned and the rewards programme kept running from day one.
-
03
Payments and PCI compliance
A complex payment gateway integrated and configured with PCI compliance in mind, so checkout is secure for customers and the business meets card security standards.
-
04
Hosting built for volume
Hosting chosen and configured around high traffic and order volumes, so both stores stay fast and reliable through busy promotions and sales.
Custom plugins
Built for the business, not off the shelf.
-
Free gift thresholds
Spend over a set amount and a free gift is unlocked, like the "spend £60, get a free pod kit" offer, giving shoppers a reason to add one more item.
-
Questionnaire vouchers
Customer questionnaires that reward people with a voucher when they complete them, gathering useful feedback and bringing shoppers back to buy again.
-
Custom reports
Reports built around the numbers the business actually needs, going well beyond what WooCommerce offers out of the box.
-
Chatbot integration
A chatbot connected to the stores, so customers get quick answers to common questions at any time of day.
The finished sites
A closer look.

Two brands, one platform, and both built to shop easily on a phone.
The result
Two brands, one platform.
KIX and Nicofresh now run on stores the business fully owns and controls, with every customer, order and loyalty point intact, secure payments, hosting that copes with busy periods, and features built around exactly how they sell.
